A second-generation Queensland photographer, Roy acquired his technical expertise at the side of his father, a renowned portrait photographer.

 

Roy refined his technique and expanded his creativity studying photography at James Cook University in Townsville. He deservedly earned a reputation over the last two decades both in Australia and overseas displaying a unique technical mastery of his medium.

 

In spite of critical acclaim and international commercial success, Roy's first love remained the portrayal of people and the human experience. After settling back down again in Townsville with his family, Roy sought a style that would flatter his subjects, yet capture their essence, their "innocence", and their individuality.

 

Roy has created a unique style blending the best of the old world and the new; technical expertise and artistic flair; color and black and white; classic wedding portraiture and documentary style photojournalism.
